Broadband Spatiotemporal Differential-operator Representations for Velocity-dependent Scattering

چکیده

A novel approach based on spatiotemporal differentialoperators is developed here for broadband, velocity-dependent scattering. Unlike the spectral-domain representations, the new method facilitates a compact formulation for scattering by arbitrary excitation signals, in the presence of moving objects. In free space (vacuum), relativistically exact formulas are developed. After developing the general theory, analysis of relativistically exact free-space scattering by cylinders, and a half-plane, are examined. For cylinders the analysis shows that in the far field pulses are located on circles in the co-moving reference-frame where the object is at-rest. In other reference frames this feature is valid only as an approximation. These results apply also to the diffractive part of the half-plane scattered field. The geometrical-optics contribution is associated with plane-waves and obeys the appropriate transformations. The various zones for these fields in an arbitrary reference-frame are analyzed.

Dilations‎, ‎models‎, ‎scattering and spectral problems of 1D discrete Hamiltonian systems

In this paper, the maximal dissipative extensions of a symmetric singular 1D discrete Hamiltonian operator with maximal deficiency indices (2,2) (in limit-circle cases at ±∞) and acting in the Hilbert space ℓ_{Ω}²(Z;C²) (Z:={0,±1,±2,...}) are considered. We consider two classes dissipative operators with separated boundary conditions both at -∞ and ∞. For each of these cases we establish a self...

A Note on Angular Representations for Scattered Waves

Differential-operator representations for the scattered field were given by Twersky [1], [3], [4], and Burke, Censor and Twersky [2], Essentially, from the data provided on a circle (in two dimensions) or a sphere (in three dimensions), the field may be reconstructed for arbitrary distances. Presently reconstruction of the field is considered from data provided in other regions of space, e.g., ...

Effect of Dual-Tasking on Variability of Spatiotemporal Parameters in Subjects with and without Anterior Cruciate Ligament Deficiency Using Linear Dynamics

Purpose: The present study aimed to determine the effect of dual-tasking on spatiotemporal characteristics in subjects with and without Anterior Cruciate Ligament Deficiency (ACLD) using linear dynamics. Methods: In this mixed model design study, spatiotemporal parameters were measured in 22 patients with ACLD (25.95±4.69 y) and 22 control subjects (24.32±3.37 y) while they were walking w...

The Geometrical Approach to Multidimensional

We prove that in multidimensional short{range potential scattering the high velocity limit of the scattering operator of an N{body system determines uniquely the potential. For a given long{range potential the short{range potential of the N{body system is uniquely determined by the high velocity limit of the modi-ed Dollard scattering operator. Moreover, we prove that any one of the Dollard sca...

New method for broadband spectroscopy of light transport through opaque scattering media

We present a new broadband technique for the measurement of diffuse light transport through opaque scattering media. Using the spectral correlations introduced by a scattering medium onto a white-light supercontinuum spectrum, the diffusion constant of light is determined over a wide spectral range in the visible and near infrared. Independent broadband measurements of both the transport mean f...
